Mick Nightingale started work at Jaguar Cars back in 1981 after spending 19 years with Morris Cars. Mick worked in water testing and rectification, and did this until Browns Lane sadly closed in 2005 – which also coincided with his retirement. He thoroughly enjoyed his 24 years at Jaguar and told me many great stories of his time there. He said his colleagues and working conditions were far superior to that of Morris and his time with Jaguar was the best of his life.
Today Mick receives the keys to a car he’s always promised himself, and this beautiful S-Type is to be his first ever Jaguar! A happy day for me also, as this is the 3rd time we have sold YF53DWA and Mick has promised to return it to us once hes ready for a change.
The picture shows Mick (bottom far right) and some of his colleagues who were also responsible for building the very last car which ended Jaguars 53 year production at Browns Lane. XJ05JAG (Jaguar Super V8 Portfolio) was kept by Jaguar and placed in the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. The JDHT collection covers ten decades and even includes the very first car built at Browns Lane – 1952 XK120.
