A fabulous day with the JDC at Wroxall Abbey. Super turnout of 500 plus cars from SS to 60’s S-Types to the latest F-types. It was also great to see such a huge gathering of modern S-Types, X-Types, XF’s, XJ’s and XK’s.
I met with many of my customers and friends which was nice and I also gained some new friends. One was a couple with a 1965 S-type (BCP639C) which they bought in 1969 for £600 – imagine owning the same car for almost 50 years! Totally unrestored, original and in need of a little TLC here and there – just how I like to see classic cars. It was finished in Gunmetal grey with red leather – one of the best colour schemes. Another was Alan Collins with his original 1979 pre HE XJ-S (8382AC) finished in Cotswold Yellow which hes owned since 1985.
Nice to see Norman Dewis in his usual fine form. Lovely spending time with Bryan, Shirley, Max and Elaine and thanks for lunch and especially the ice creams 🙂
As with all nice days it went far too quickly – roll on the next one!
